Happy New Year!

Also, boom. This weekend, there will be pictures of the boom. Bigger fireworks displays than the commercial ones in Australia, and it’s just random folks setting them off. Tomorrow, that will be us. Work proceedeth apace. Ex-co-workers of mine will be unsurprised that my first performance evaluation consisted largely of “satisfactory”, with some “outstandings” and [...]

Days like these….

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Matters are now much improved. We had a very productive week at work, the show is going to be very pretty, everything is coming together nicely. More importantly, this weekend, Macau started feeling like home. The weather today was lovely – warm, sunny, not too humid – so we went to buy a heater, and [...]

They’re a little overwhelmed by the number of people coming in – they sometimes ask you to fill in forms you’ve already filled in, and they’re [...]

I’m here. I have an apartment with a spa, and I’ve learned to order crispy skin pork in Cantonese. Beyond that, I’m not sure I have words yet. We’re spending a lot of time down the pub, and I’m trying to spend a lot of time walking Old Taipa learning Chinese. The main story so [...]

Here we go then.
